The Treatment

Calm the redness you can see.

Rosacea can look different from person to person.

For some, it appears as persistent flushing across the cheeks and nose. For others, visible facial vessels become more noticeable over time.

At Reborn Laser Clinic, we use the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus 1064 nm Nd to target the vascular component of rosacea, including persistent redness and visible facial vessels.

The laser delivers controlled energy into blood vessels beneath the skin, helping targeted vessels become less visible over time.

The goal is not to cure rosacea.

It is to reduce the redness you can see and help the skin look calmer, clearer, and more even.

how it works

TARGET. CALM. FADE.

A significant part of the redness seen with rosacea can come from dilated blood vessels beneath the skin.

The GentleMax Pro Plus 1064 nm Nd delivers laser energy into these vessels, where it is absorbed by blood and converted into controlled heat.

This targeted thermal effect causes treated vessels to close and become less visible.

As the body gradually clears the treated vessels, areas of redness can begin to look softer and more even.

Long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd has been studied for both diffuse facial erythema and rosacea-related vascular changes.

PREP

Understanding the redness comes first.

Before treatment, we assess your skin to determine what is contributing to the redness.

We look at whether the concern is mainly diffuse redness, visible vessels, or a combination of both.

We also consider your skin tone, rosacea history, current flare-ups, medications, and recent sun exposure.

Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure before your appointment and arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and skincare products.

TREAT

Precise energy. Targeted treatment.

The GentleMax Pro Plus delivers controlled 1064 nm Nd laser energy into the vascular areas being treated.

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snapping or warming feeling.

Candela's Dynamic Cooling Device helps protect the surface of the skin and improve comfort throughout treatment.

Treatment may focus on individual visible vessels, broader areas of redness, or both, depending on what we identify during your assessment.

RECOVER

Let your skin settle.

Your skin may look more flushed immediately after treatment and can feel warm or slightly sensitive.

Mild swelling or temporary darkening of individual vessels may also occur.

These effects are generally temporary.

Keep your skincare routine simple while the skin settles. Avoid excessive heat and strenuous exercise for the first 24–48 hours, and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.

Because heat and sun can trigger rosacea, protecting the skin during recovery is especially important.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Is 1064 nm Nd the best laser for every case of rosacea?

Not necessarily. Different vascular lasers can be useful for different types of rosacea and redness. For example, both 1064 nm Nd and 595 nm pulsed-dye laser have been studied for diffuse facial erythema, with treatment response varying according to the laser used and the skin types studied. At Reborn, we treat cases that are appropriate for our GentleMax Pro Plus 1064 nm Nd protocol and will let you know if another treatment approach may be better suited to your skin.

Can laser make rosacea flare?

Temporary redness or flushing can occur immediately after treatment. Rosacea-prone skin can also be sensitive to heat and irritation, which is why treatment settings and aftercare are selected carefully. We recommend avoiding common heat triggers while the skin is recovering.

Is treatment suitable for darker skin tones?

The 1064 nm Nd wavelength has relatively low absorption by epidermal melanin compared with shorter wavelengths, which can provide more flexibility when treating vascular concerns in skin with more melanin. Published GentleMax data also includes the use of long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd in patients with Fitzpatrick skin types IV–V and papulopustular rosacea. Your individual skin tone, pigmentation history, and risk factors are still assessed before treatment.

Can rosacea come back after laser?

Yes. Laser can reduce existing visible vessels and redness, but it cannot remove the underlying tendency toward rosacea. Triggers such as heat, sun exposure, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, and individual environmental factors may contribute to future flushing or redness. Maintenance treatment may therefore be appropriate for some clients.

What if I have bumps and breakouts from rosacea too?

Laser treatment primarily targets the vascular component of rosacea. If you have significant papules, pustules, or active inflammatory rosacea, you may also need medical or topical treatment to manage the inflammatory component. Laser treatment should not replace appropriate medical management when it is needed.

Can this treat visible vessels around my nose?

Yes. Visible vessels around the nose and cheeks are common with rosacea and may be treated with the 1064 nm Nd when appropriate. We assess the size, colour, and depth of the vessels before treatment to determine the most appropriate approach.

Will my redness disappear completely?

Complete clearance cannot be guaranteed. The goal is to reduce the intensity of visible redness and make facial vessels less noticeable. Because rosacea is chronic, some redness may remain and new vascular changes can develop over time.

How many treatments will I need?

Rosacea and diffuse redness usually respond best to a series. The number of treatments depends on how much redness is present, whether visible vessels are involved, and how your skin responds. Published studies have used treatment series ranging from two to four or more sessions, commonly spaced about a month apart.

Can GentleMax Pro Plus help rosacea redness?

Yes, for appropriate clients. Long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd has been studied for rosacea-associated erythema and telangiectasia. Clinical studies have reported improvements in redness and visible vascular changes following a series of Nd treatments.

Can laser cure rosacea?

No. Rosacea is a chronic skin condition and there is currently no permanent cure. Laser treatment can help reduce some of its visible vascular features, including persistent redness and facial vessels, but it does not remove the underlying tendency to develop rosacea. Maintenance treatment may be needed over time.
