The Treatment
herry angiomas are small red vascular spots that can appear almost anywhere on the body.
They are extremely common and are usually harmless, but some people choose to treat them because of their colour, location, or because they become more noticeable over time.
At Reborn Laser Clinic, we use the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus 1064 nm Nd to target appropriate cherry angiomas.
The laser delivers controlled energy into the blood vessels that make up the angioma, causing them to heat and close.
Over time, the body gradually clears the treated vessels and the spot becomes less noticeable.
The goal is to target the vascular spot while leaving the surrounding skin as unaffected as possible.

how it works
Cherry angiomas are made up of small clusters of blood vessels close to the surface of the skin.
The GentleMax Pro Plus 1064 nm Nd delivers laser energy into the vessel, where it is absorbed by blood and converted into controlled heat.
This targeted thermal effect causes the treated vessels to close.
As the area heals, the body gradually clears the treated vessels and the angioma becomes less visible.
Treatment settings are customized according to the size, colour, and characteristics of the lesion, as well as your skin type.
what it can do

.avif)

Before treatment, we assess the spot to determine whether it has the appearance of a benign vascular lesion and whether it is appropriate for laser treatment.
We also consider your skin tone, medical history, medications, and any changes you may have noticed in the lesion.
Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure before your appointment and arrive with the treatment area clean and free of makeup or skincare products.
The GentleMax Pro Plus delivers controlled 1064 nm Nd laser pulses directly into the cherry angioma.
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap or brief feeling of heat.
Candela's Dynamic Cooling Device helps protect the surface of the skin and improve comfort during treatment.
Because cherry angiomas are generally small, individual lesions can usually be treated very quickly.
The treated angioma may immediately become darker, grey, purple, or slightly swollen.
A small crust or scab may also develop as the area heals.
Do not pick or scratch the treated spot.
Keep the area clean and gentle while it recovers, and protect it from sun exposure.
The treated angioma will gradually become less noticeable as the area heals.
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Downtime is generally minimal. Temporary redness, swelling, darkening, or a small crust can occur at the treatment site. Most clients can return to their normal routine while the treated spot heals.
Most clients describe treatment as a quick snapping or hot pinprick sensation. Because each cherry angioma usually requires only a small number of laser pulses, treatment is generally very quick.
A successfully treated angioma may remain cleared, but laser treatment cannot prevent new cherry angiomas from developing. It is common for new ones to appear over time.
Yes. If you have several cherry angiomas in the same area, multiple spots can often be treated during the same appointment. Treatment time depends on the number and size of the lesions being treated.
Not always. The angioma may darken, shrink, or change colour immediately after treatment. It can then gradually fade or develop a small crust before clearing as the skin heal
Many small cherry angiomas may respond well to one treatment. Larger or more prominent lesions may require an additional session depending on how they respond.
The 1064 nm Nd wavelength delivers controlled laser energy into the blood vessels within the angioma. The energy creates heat inside the targeted vessels, causing them to close and gradually become less visible as the area heals.
Most cherry angiomas are harmless and do not require treatment for medical reasons. However, not every red or dark spot is a cherry angioma. If a lesion has changed rapidly, looks unusual, bleeds without being irritated, or we are unsure what it is, we may recommend having it assessed by a physician or dermatologist before laser treatment.
A cherry angioma is a small benign growth made up of blood vessels. They are usually bright red but can also appear darker red or purple. They can develop almost anywhere on the body and tend to become more common with age.
